Factual background
WS was a landlord. While leaving his pub on 25 August 2019, WS was stabbed in his neck, left shoulder and lower abdomen. He was transported to hospital by an ambulance and underwent surgery for his injuries. He subsequently developed depression and was treated for excessive alcohol use.
