The husband’s needs
The husband’s needs
Having determined that the agreement should be given decisive weight, the judge turned to consider the husband’s reasonable needs. The significant issue was whether there should be provision for him to purchase a property. The judge was in no doubt that under the terms of the agreement it would be ‘wrong’ for him to make such a provision. Providing the husband reasonable income of £110,000 p.a. plus rent for a house in Dubai for two years, resulted in the judge making a lump sum order of £400,000 in the husband’s favour.
