Introduction

1.The appellant, Howe Properties (NE) Limited, holds four long leasehold flats on an estate at Yarm owned by the respondent, Accent Housing Limited. The appeal is from a decision of the First-tier Tribunal (“the FTT”) that service charges in respect of management fees were reasonable and payable in the sum of £300 in respect of each of the four flats for the years ending 31 March 2017, 2018 and 2019.2.The appellant was represented in the appeal by Mr Anthony Verduyn and the respondent by Mr Justin Bates, both of counsel, to whom I am grateful.
