Central Bedfordshire Council v. F, D and C
. The judgment is dated 29th July 2022. I confirm that I have applied these legal principles faithfully to this case. Many of them are well-known and do not require lengthy explanation. However, I confirm that the burden of proof lies with the Local Authority and the standard of proof is the balance of probabilities. It is for the Local Authority to disprove the explanations of accidental injury proffered by the parents. I am reminded of the judgment of His Honour Judge Bellamy in the case of
